Dairy Grazing Apprenticeship
Dairy Grazing Apprenticeship (DGA) works with established grazing dairy farmers, universities, community-based organizations, and other stakeholders to deliver high quality work-based training in managed-grazing dairy production in multiple states. When DGA first contacted WIDS, they wanted to become established as an accredited institution for delivering registered Dairy Grazing Apprenticeship via online learning.
WIDS led the effort by:
-
re-designing the curriculum program framework
-
setting up a WIDS Production Site to support the development of curriculum documentation required for the Educational Approval Program (EAP)
-
developing course and program outcomes and learning plans for online delivery
-
guiding submission of the EAP application and on-site review preparation
-
coaching employees on review day activities, EAB likely questions, how to answer questions
-
coaching DGA instructor in designing learning plans and materials for online delivery
-
assisting DGA instructor with initial Moodle course set-up and design
-
guiding instructors on using Moodle tools to assist learners in achieving outcomes
DGA currently has 200 approved Master Dairy Graziers in 15 states: Iowa, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and Wisconsin.
