Standards Analysis and Mapping
WIDS consultants analyze and map curricula to ensure they meet occupational and academic standards. They objectively determine if a course supports these standards through careful analysis of learning activities and assessments. WIDS software aids this process by mapping the alignment of academic standards, learning outcomes, and assessments.
What makes WIDS different?
WIDS software supports the ability to develop and demonstrate alignment among industry or academic standards, measurable learning outcomes and assessments. A WIDS report provides a visual map illustrating the relationship of industry/academic standards to learning outcomes.
Using WIDS software, consultants import and maintain a library of industry or academic standards. These are "linked" to learning outcomes at the course and program level to create standards-driven courses and programs.
WIDS consultants identify gaps in curriculum using WIDS reports that map where standards link to learning outcomes. In doing so, consultants can see where standards are not met, or where there is a duplication of effort.
We've provided standards analysis and mapping services for more than 20 years. We have mapped DACUMs, K-12 education standards, state standards, and occupational standards. We streamline and simplify the process with curriculum maps that show where standards are taught and met throughout a course a program.
