College of Lake County

The College of Lake County in Illinois purchased WIDS to help them design Programs of Study to meet the Illinois Community College Board requirements for Perkins. They are using the WIDS program, course and pathway modules to layout stackable credentials that lead to industry recognized credentials, certificates, and associate degrees.

CLC imported all of their course reference files to give faculty a head start in setting up the pathways. They use the WIDS program module to layout the configurations and map credentials and outcomes to the courses. The mapping tools in WIDS make this an easy task! Then they use the pathway module to create a roadmap for students and documentation for college advisors to help students select the best route for them. WIDS provided both a process for completing the task and the documentation tool.
