South Central College

South Central College has been using the WIDS software since 2008. Most recently they have leveraged the application to ensure that their curriculum documents, including course outcome summaries and syllabi, are available in approved and final form via the Internet.

What if the college online catalog could provide more information than just the course title, description and credits? What if a student could review the course outline too?

Those were questions South Central College raised—and then solved by linking WIDS course outlines on forward-facing website to students (as well as industry members and the general public) to their online catalog. The WIDS application programming interface, or API has been beneficial in pulling out course outcome summary data and feeding it to the college's e-course catalog and website.

South Central College also uses the WIDS software to:

Manage their curriculum development and review process
Share curriculum at multiple campuses
Transfer critical curriculum data to other applications
