WIDS consultants often facilitate large-scale curriculum alignment projects, where they work with instructors to develop program and course outcomes linked to state or industry standards. With an increased need for transparency of learning outcomes and tying programs to industry requirements, a clear curriculum development model and process is essential to ensure skills are being addressed and taught in local courses and programs.
But, pulling such large curriculum projects together isn’t easy. WIDS facilitators strive to provide excellent service and customized deliverables for each client, whether it’s an individual college or the entire system. WIDS has worked to put together many statewide curriculum projects, including adult basic education, auto collision, clinical lab technician, farmstead rewire, emergency response, and radiography. Additionally, WIDS helps with the development of statewide apprenticeship programs, such as industrial maintenance, foundry, and plumbing.
The WIDS model and software are used throughout Wisconsin’s 16 technical colleges for course and program development. Currently WIDS consultants facilitate the TSA development process, working with faculty representatives from each college.
